dancehub.io (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the dancehub.io website and the dancehub.io Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address and password — password is hashed, never stored in plain text
- Clip data — video URLs, clip titles, start/end timestamps, notes, and tags
- Bookmarks — clips you save for quick access
We also collect anonymous usage analytics through Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used. This does not use cookies and does not track individual users.
Chrome Extension
The dancehub.io Chrome extension:
- Accesses YouTube page content to enable clip creation and video playback control
- Stores clip data locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API when you are not signed in
- Syncs clip data to our servers only when you are signed in and explicitly choose to save clips to the cloud
- Does not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or any data from non-YouTube pages
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the dancehub.io service
- To sync your clips and bookmarks across devices
- To enable sharing of public clips via permalink URLs
- To improve the service based on anonymous usage patterns
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Storage
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (neon.tech) in the United States. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our web application is hosted on Vercel.
